-May 21, 2002 - Part Nine - Upstairs Back Rooms & Future Plans-

I thought this sticker on the wall of one of the offices looked appropriate. If you can imagine the mall opening and a fresh new sticker being hung on the door, this sticker would represent the mall in it's current state. Kind of like the front and back covers of the Styx "Paradise Theater" album. What am I talking about? No idea - but check out that album cover here.

I finally found John and we discovered a bunch of stuff in this one office that, thankfully, had a window to let in some light. This was an unlabeled picture of some random mall, possibly in Rochester.

John took a peek out of the window on this lovely rainy day in Syracuse. I believe the camera is looking toward the Hill's wing in this picture.

Here's some more crap that we found on the floor. you wouldn't believe how much random junk was scattered everywhere in these back rooms.

I'm assuming this was one of the main mall offices. Our Tour Guide and I were looking thru some electrical schematics we found but couldn't make any sense of them.

Now, this was something very cool to find. It's too bad it was, again, in a near pitch black room with my camera's spotlight being the only light source. Anyway, there were 3 posters glued to the wall that showed a proposal for a future redesign of the mall that never happened. This is poster #1.

This is poster #1 again. The caption on the bottom of the picture read, "New Seating Areas With Quilted Patches Of Color And All New Lighting For Spring 1993".

The caption on poster #2 read, "New Exterior And Entrances Scheduled For Completion Summer 1993".

Poster #3 read, "A Food Court And An Orchard In Center Court - All In An American Folk Art Theme".

We tried desperately to get these posters off of the wall to take them with us, but they just would not come off in one piece. We used everything we could find to try and peel them off, our Tour Guide even tried to help us. Damn those mall planners and their sticky glue!
